Cliffs of Moher tickets and entry fees

There is one admission ticket to the Cliffs of Moher, and it covers the visitor centre, the paved paths and O'Brien's Tower. Here is what it costs, when the site is open, and why you do not need one on a tour.

The Cliffs of Moher are run as a visitor experience with an admission ticket that covers the whole site. You can buy it at the gate or online for a time slot, and every tour on this site already includes it in the price.

Figures below are from the official cliffsofmoher.ie booking page in 2026.

The quick answer

The 2026 gate rate is €15 per adult, €12 for students and seniors, and €30 for a family. Children under 12 enter free with a parent or guardian (up to 4 per adult). Booking a time slot online is cheaper than the gate. Admission covers the visitor centre, 800 m of paved paths, O'Brien's Tower and parking. On every tour listed here, entry is included.

Do you need a ticket if you go on a tour?

No. Cliffs of Moher admission is included on every tour on this site, from the rail tour to the coach days and the Galway day.

The rail tour includes Bunratty Castle and Folk Park admission as well. There is nothing to book separately. Compare the tours in Cliffs of Moher day trips from Dublin.

Is it cheaper to book online?

Yes. The official site says booking online gets the better rates, and visitors who do not book online pay the full gate rate.

The price depends on the slot. The official booking page splits the day into Off-Peak AM (8 to 11 AM), Peak (11 AM to 4 PM) and Off-Peak PM (4 PM to close), and shows the rate for each slot when you pick a date. Off peak is the cheapest. Coach groups of 10 or more book through the groups department instead.

How long do you need at the Cliffs of Moher?

The official site recommends a minimum of two hours, which is what the rail tour and the main coach tours give you.

The rail tour and Wild Rover each give two hours, the Burren and Galway coach at least two, the Ennis and Limerick coach 1 hour 45 minutes, and the small-group and Doolin days 90 minutes. Busy hours are 11 AM to 4 PM; see Cliffs of Moher weather for timing and fog.

Want the full two hours? The rail tour gives you that, entry included.

Do children, students and seniors pay less?

Yes: children under 12 enter free with a parent or guardian, and students and seniors pay €12 at the gate.

On a tour, the cliffs fee is already in the price, so what matters is the tour's own child rate. See the Cliffs of Moher with kids for each tour's age rules.

Under-12s go free at the gate; seniors and students pay €12.

Is a tour better value than going on your own?

If you have no car, yes: the entry fee is only €15, and the cost is getting there from Dublin.

With a car, buying your own time slot is the cheapest way in. Without one, a coach tour from $80 or the rail tour from $185 per person covers transport, a guide and admission in one booking.
